![]() I suggest loose framing and then crop to taste before sending out to print. If you are typically doing small prints (even say 8x10 or even 11x14), all cameras have resolution to spare. If you almost always do 4圆 prints then just shoot in that aspect ratio and you'll avoid the problem. The above is one reason I always like to have some resolution to spare so you can frame a little loose and crop to whatever aspect ratio you want later. Full Bleed printing gives you the option to trim the photo and retain everything of the original photo, but then you'll have an odd size if you need to put it in a frame. It is probably possible to edit the photos in some way that will output them with a blank area on top/bottom or left/right so they print like a full bleed. I'm not sure if there is some option to do this when printing at Costco or not. If paper size does not match the photo aspect ratio you'll have white areas on either the top/bottom or left/right sides of the print. This prints the whole photo on whatever paper size is used to the max size poisible. 5x7s are closer than 4圆 to m43 aspect ratio and usually aren't very costly to print.Ģ - Do what we used to call a 'full bleed print. Frankly I know of no standard sizes that accomplish this exactly. m43 has a 1.33 (4/3) aspect ratio so doing standard Costco prints is going to cut off part of the top and bottom of each photo.ġ - Get a photo size that matches the 1.33 aspect ratio. Many years ago the standard small prints from 35mm film were set at 4圆 which exactly matches the 1.5 aspect ratio of the format. Standard photo sizes vary in aspect ratios. Should I change my aspect ratio in my camera to 3:2 to avoid this in the future? TIA for your input. ![]() I am not all that experienced and edit photos on my Mac But, it seems like once you shoot in that 4:3 aspect ratio, that is what you get, Taking it down to a 3:2, crops out things that you may want to keep. Where can I get a photo printed from the 4:3 aspect ratio? I have many photos from my Lumix micro 4/3's that I would hope I could print if I wanted. I tried Shutterfly, but it crops the the photo too much as well. ![]() I went to Costco and they only use a 3:2 ratio, which crops the photo more than I want. down, dirty, and cheap off my iPhone 11 pro, that also shoots in the 4:3 ratio. I got a rude awakening, when I tried to print a photo. I haven't printed photos in years, as the photos just seem to live in their digital world. I've been shooting in the 4:3 aspect ratio. ![]()
